| | The Birdsboro Orioles American Legion team will be participating in the
17th Bellefonte Bandit Showdown in State College, PA. The
tournament field has been increased to 20 teams this year. A round-robin
format will be used, guaranteeing each team 5 games. The champion will be
determined by a points and bonus system.
This tournament over the past 16 years has developed into one of the top
mid-season tournaments in the east. The Orioles have been chosen to
participate in this year's tournament because of our past history at the state
and national level.

Rules and Scoring
- All tournament games are seven innings.
- There is a 2 hour, 15 minute time limit for all games. When the time
limit is reached the current inning will be completed, at which point the
game will end.
- The mercy rule will be in effect: 10 runs after 5 innings, 8 runs after 6
innings. The home team must bat in the bottom of the inning if
trailing.
- A designated hitter may be used for the pitcher only. The American
League DH rule will be used during the tournament.
- The 9 starters may re-enter the game once. The DH is considered a
starter. A pitcher, for whom a designated hitter is used, is not
considered a starter and may not re-enter.
- Tournament standings will be determined on a point basis as follows:
